Washington Trip: Final Installment

The last leg of our trip was in Vancouver, BC! It was another great part of this terrific trip. Neither one of us had ever been in Canada before and we were both looking forward to that alone. We started out our trip at the Capilano Suspension Bridge. It is certainly a must see if y'all are ever in the area. The bridge itself is pretty awesome, but the entire park it is located in is a fun time. After the bridge we headed into town, checked into the hotel then went downtown to shop. The next morning we finished up in downtown then headed to Granville Island to their public market. It was very cool and very similar to Pike Place in Seattle. It was a fun way to spend the morning before we headed back to the good 'ol USA.

The trip was  blast and I am so happy that I was able to spend the time with my mother.  This weekend Mrs. Texas and her mother came to visit and we have had the best time! They headed home today and I am trying to regroup before Laker Lover shows up on Friday! Have a great week loves!

Washington Trip: Part 3

Next up, Seattle! After visiting Seattle, I remembered why I fell in love with this neck of the woods without having been here. What's not to love? I picked a beautiful time of the year to come visit this area; all the trees are changing colors, there is a dense fog covering the ground in the mornings and there is a cool nip in the air at night. Well let's just say... be jealous, but I digress. So the trip to Seattle, Mom and I hit up all the main tourist sites! Pike Place Market, the Space Needle, downtown shopping, and the gum wall. At the end of the evening we had dinner at the Crab Pot on the pier then headed north for Canada. It was a great trip and I was able to scout out all the places for when Mrs. Texas and Laker Lover come visit the next two weekends.

Stay tuned for the last installment of our trip next week!

Washington Trip: Part 2

The next leg of our adventure was spent touring around San Francisco. This is where we experienced the only main trouble in our trip. Since our schedule was not 100% settled before hand we just took care of all hotel reservations the night we needed them. Well we ended up in SF on Saturday evening before a SF 49ers game the following morning, talk about a mess. Luckily we were able to get a hotel and headed straight to bed. The next morning we started off with breakfast at the Hollywood Cafe as recommended by Miss Football before we hit up the pier. It was awesome! We had lots to see, from boats to seals, the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz and the fun shops scattered in between.

After we saw everything we needed to in SF, we headed for Napa Valley. We were able to schedule a tour at the Robert Mondavi vineyard. We were able to see the process of making wine from grape to bottle and we had the best tour guide. Bob was a sweet older gentleman that had been doing tours on and off for 42 years, he was a riot.

These barrels are about $1800 and only 12 are made a day by 2 guys.
Below is the signature of the one who made that barrel.

After Napa Valley we drove up to Eureka, CA to stay the night. The next morning on our drive up the National Redwood forest we ran up on a herd of Elk at an RV park. I guess they are always there just hanging out so we stopped by to say hello.

A little further up the road we started running into the big stinkin' trees! They were pretty awesome! Just as we were enjoying the trees, our route took us along the shoreline and it was gorgeous! Enjoy the pictures loves!

Stay tuned for the next installment!
