Bucket List Preview

For the past year I have been wanting to do a Bucket List blog, but every time I start it I feel like I am leaving things out. I have so many wonderful things I want to experience, that I just don't think it's fair to leave anything out. So with that in mind, I got an idea from Lovely Country Mess's blog last week. For those of y'all on Pinterest you know all the good things on there, well there is also bucket list pins. I thought I would gradually show y'all some of the things I have accomplished on my list as well as things I still want to do.

Spiritual Healing

But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul.
--Deuteronomy 4:29

I started off this year working on becoming a better person and strengthening my relationship with God. In an effort to help with that, I decided to start doing a few new things in my daily routine. The first thing you guys read about was adopting a soldier, I am also writing down one good thing from each day, and reading a couple daily devotionals. I had purchased a great devotional by Joyce Meyer then had my friend Lovely Country Mess, from Take Time to Smell the Cowpies, was sweet enough to send me a copy of her favorite devotional, so I am set. They are going great by the way and I am planning on talking about a few of my favorite days later in the year, so keep on the look out!

It is amazing how much different your day can turn out when you start it off right in worship. So I thought I would share a few of my favorite bible verses with y'all and ask you guys to share a few of your favorites as well.

Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strenghten you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Rejoice always, pray continually,
give thanks in all circumstances;
for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for,
the evidence of things not seen.

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.

Philippians 4:6-7
Do not be anxious about anything,
but in every situation, by prayer and petition,
with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding,
will guard your heart and your minds in Christ Jesus.

What am I destined to be?

Do you ever feel like you aren't fulfilling your destiny? The feeling that there is something that just isn't quite right? The fact that no matter what you do, you still have that feeling of unease deep deep inside you. That you pray when you wake up tomorrow you will have more direction that you had the day before.

What am I destined to be? What is my true purpose in life? Am I destined to wear a white coat and help patients on a medical level or am I destined to truly help people on a much deeper level? To inspire or guide? To motivate or encourage? To lead or be taught? What am I supposed to be doing? Am I even directing my life in the right direction?

What did God have planned for me when he created me? Am I doing everything I can today to help achieve that purpose in my future? Perhaps I am veering off course like so many of us tend to do.

Out of all of the questions listed above there is only one answer.

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in The Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all ways acknowledge him and he will make your path straight.

That is one of the most beautiful things about God. You can put all your worries and problems in his hands and he will take care of them for you. You just have to be patient enough to wait for his answer whether it is what you were expecting or not. Sometimes we may feel like he is not answering our prayers, but he always does and he is always there. Just because we do not see the answer we were expecting, it may just mean that he has far better plans for us. Take time out of your day to turn your problems and worries over to him.

What makes you happy?

What makes you happy, I mean truly happy? Do you find joy in life's smaller things? Are you able to find happiness in something that most have overlooked? With today's fast tracked society I think that many of life's more beautiful things are easily overlooked with the hectic mess of our lives.

Think back to the simpler times when 9 year olds didn't have cell phones and siblings only complained about who had to go milk the cow that morning. Now don't get me wrong I do love many of the conveniences we have today, but what small bits of happiness are placed throughout our day that we so easily overlook. Where is the hidden beauty in your day? Have you found it yet?

I am just as guilty as the next person in getting caught up in everything that is going on in my life that I forget to find happiness in the small things too. I know sometimes I feel so over whelmed with classes, work, organizations, studying and everything else going on that's I forget to open my eyes and see the beauty. Somedays when I am on my way home from class or walking in the grocery store I catch myself smiling about the smallest thing. Whether it is the beautiful sunset that is painted across the sky or the sweet elderly man that is still holding the door for his wife. How did we get so caught up with living life that we are actually missing out on truly living life?

So whenever I take the time to find the happiness in life this is the many forms it comes in:

Sunsets -- Ice Cream -- City Skylines -- Football -- Movies -- Daily Devotionals

When my fingernails and toenails match -- Taking pictures -- Purple Hair

Ignore the face, I was demonstrating something for
a friend, but this was the only purple picture I had. HAHA
Making greeting cards -- Sending friends pictures to make them smile like these

Music and singing along (preferable as a gangster rapper) -- Traveling

Kissing the Sphinx in Egypt!
Overcast days -- Starry nights -- Long talks with old friends

Weekend Recap

The first week of classes is officially over thank goodness! Man it sure seemed to drag by minute by minute, hour by hour, but oh well that is over and past and I had one stellar weekend. It sure was a pleasant surprise to have a three weekend to top it all off!

Friday
Friday's are the absolute worst for classes. On a normal day we go from 9-11, 1-5 of classes, but we got lucky and only had to go 1-5 this first Friday. Even with the shortened day my brain was NOT focusing. I felt like a 9 year old with ADD all hyped up on sugar. So in my "spare" time during class I started with my Type A personality and made lists of everything I needed to get done this long weekend. To start everything off was a grocery list. Laker Lover and I do one big shopping trip at the beginning of the semester to start us of and seeing that this will probably be our last together we went out with a bang. We ended up looking like two soccer moms getting ready for a little league tournament or something. We had two baskets full of groceries and loaded up the back of her car, seriously, check it out!

Yes that is the back of a range rover FILLED to the top with groceries!
After we motivated ourselves to unload the back of the car and put away all our groceries, we wound down the day with a little Pitch Perfect movie time. Man oh man if y'all haven't seen that movie, go rent it, redbox it, buy it, whatever, just go see it!

Oh and just fair warning y'all, Rebel Wilson plays Fat Amy is absolutely HILARIOUS!! Seriously just watch it, but in case you don't have time this week here is a quote to get you through the week.

Saturday
Saturday started off super early and I went to drop by car off to get new tires on. Whoop Whoop! I am getting ready travel across state for all my rotations! So stoked :) Well after I dropped off my car I did a few things on the computer and took me a little nap. It was we deserved of course! After I went and picked up my car, I hit up one of my favorite stores, Hobby Lobby! Man folks I could spend lots of time and money in that store. I ended up getting some paper and stickers to work on a few cards for my friends and the soldier. Here are a few of my products!

Laker Lover cooked us a delicious dinner and we worked on some homework. We ended the night with the Little Rascals. Another one of my favorite movies!

Sunday
I had quite a lovely Sunday on this long weekend. I met up with Bob for lunch at Olive Garden and some much needed catching up. It is always great to spend time with old friends. It is amazing how much one conversation can make your entire day. After lunch I swung by Bahama Bucks and picked up an afternoon treat for Laker Lover and I. We spent the afternoon at home catching up on a few things then met up with Fratty Frat. Laker Lover, Fratty Frat, and I went and got dinner and a movie. Have you guys seen Gangster Squad? Well go out watch it if you get the chance. It is a good one for sure. Oh and G-Ma if you are reading this, I think you will like this one!

Monday
The last day of my break was spent at home. You know the usual home errands, laundry, cleaning, the list goes on and on. I also had some school work I needed to get done as well. In between putting up laundry and cleaning up my crafts from my card making this weekend, I was able to watch one of my favorite childhood classics, Mary Poppins. Come on y'all you know the drill ... "A spoon full of sugar makes the medicine go down, medicine go down, medicine go down." Such a wonderful classic! As with all good things, they must come to an end, and the day was finished up with a shift over at the good 'ol Walgreens.

I hope everybody's weekend was just as lovely as mine!
