Unless you have been living under a rock, you know that October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. There are pink ribbons floating around everywhere and event after event to help raise money. Breast cancer research has taken huge strides in the past few decades and the survival rate has increased as a result. Unfortunately not every story ends with a happy ending.
I came across this article last week and it broke my heart. The lady nailed it in the title, the last three pictures broke me. Take a few minutes to read the article then say a prayer for all those affected by this awful disease and all that have lost loved ones in the battle.
Oh my gosh, this is amazing. Absolutely heartbreaking. God bless them.
ReplyDeleteI do NOT wear a pink ribbon. A pink ribbon is everything that cancer is not. It is not pretty and it is most certainly not sexy (alas the SAVE THE TA-TAS--not the person, of course)! The pink ribbon has become a marketing gimmick. Very little of the proceeds raised actually go to fight cancer. Instead of buying pink junk, much more good can be come from people making a direct donation to a reputable research organization.
