Graduation Weekend

So evidently I have been slackin' on this writing blogs business, my apologies. Life has been a little bit of crazy since we last talked in April. Where to start? Well I graduated pharmacy school, moved to a different state, became a certified pharmacist and started working for a great company. I guess I will slowly start my recaps chronologically, so here we go . . .

Graduation Weekend
Back in May I accomplished something that I am pretty sure I thought was impossible at different times during my academic career. It only took me 6 years, two colleges, many miles down the road, countless hours studying, and the best support systems a girl could ask for, but I graduated pharmacy school with my Doctorate of Pharmacy. This is by far one of the greatest accomplishments at this point in my life and I just wanted to say THANK YOU to everybody who helped along the way. I know I may be a little partial, but I really am blessed with the best family/friends/classmates/colleagues! Before I get all sappy, I better start sharing the fun of graduation weekend.

Thursday night before graduation, our class put on a graduation banquet for our class and our family/friends. It was a fun, carefree night with the family. My parents, brother, his girlfriend and my Mom's parents all attended. Now mind you, we got stuck at the back of the banquet, could only hear every fifth word that was said, but we had a ball! Laker Lover's posse (yes posse, because she took up 2 tables at the banquet) were in town for the festivities too and we all had a blast together that night.

Friday morning, bright and early, Laker Lover and I headed downtown to start getting ready for the pre-graduation ceremony obligations (class pictures, etc.). The rest of our crew showed up just in time to save seats and snap a few pictures beforehand. Luckily for me, I had my own personal photographer aka mother to document the weekend. By eleven o'clock the ceremony started and an hour and a half later, we were officially PharmD's!

My favorite part of the outfit was definitely my shoes!
The original study crew minus one!
I couldn't have done it without them!
My two biggest supporters!
I would be lost without all their love support!
My two favorite Kansasians made the trip down!

After graduation festivities were over, we all shifted into party mode. Laker Lover and I rented out a room at the hotel we were all staying at for a graduation party. The party was a complete success if you ask me! We had about 100 family members, long time friends, classmates, and anybody else who wanted to stop by to enjoy the brisket dinner, cake and drinks. Times like these really reinforce my thoughts on how extremely blessed I am! Between Laker Lover and I, we had people there from at least 5 different states supporting us. It was a great weekend celebrating our accomplishment as well as catching up with everybody. It ALMOST made the idea of going back to school for something worth while if I could repeat the graduation weekend. ;)

Whew, that was kind of picture overload....
Happy Weekend Friends!

I can't believe it is here!

Well I can't believe it is finally here, my last day of rotation. It feels unreal to think about, I have completed 6 years of college, spent numerous hours studying, and met some of the best people. I have been fortunate enough to travel to 3 different states to practice pharmacy, as well as all over the state of New Mexico. Since rotations started on June 3rd, I have traveled thousands of miles, visited a new country and been fortunate enough to spend the year with my family and friends.

Thankfully I limited my "necessities" that I took to every rotation by the end.
I had a ball with my little cousin during my Silver City rotations.

One of my last weekends "living" in ABQ I went out with some of my favorites!
This year, I started to learn to love to run.

I was there when Carson Ross was born.
One of my favorites!
A few of my favorites from my month in Washington!
I think I left part of my heart up there.
I was able to help celebrate Kaydence Lynn's first birthday!
Attended the AFC Championship game!

A smirk because I am almost seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
This year has no doubt been one of the craziest and best years of my life. I am so fortunate that I have been able to have this experience and I want to thank each and everyone of y'all for your love and support along the way.

We are officially 49 days from graduation, FORTY-NINE DAYS!

Did you know?

Did you know I only have 10 days until I am done with my college/pharmacy school career? 10 days until I am done with rotations and only have to worry about studying for boards and graduating. Can I get a HELL ya?!? (excuse the language) I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas, hurry up time!

Happy Tuesday Y'all

Hello Lovely

Sorry y'all but things have been a little bit crazy lately. Since Valentine's day, I have switched rotations. I am currently working in Topeka, Kansas at a small independent pharmacy. I have been exposed to a completely different aspect of pharmacy so far. Everything has been going great and it has been great stay with Brother of Mine up here. I currently have one week down, so you know what that means . . . 20 days until I am done with school FOR-EV-ER!! :)

Lets see, what else has been going on? Oh well my last week of rotatoin in Las Cruces I was out sick. Y'all know how it goes when one person in the house gets sick, everybody else gets it to. Well my Papa got pneumonia and the flu, he gave my G-Ma broncitis and the flu and one of them gave me a sinus infection and the flu. Whew, what a mess!! Needless to say, I was not allowed to finish out my rotation with the cancer patients. I did not want to expose them to any type of infection with their immune system beign supressed. Luckily, I am almost completely over that nonsense and almost back to full health.

I am going to be spending my first weekend in Kansas running around like normal. Today is the annual Fake Patty's Day celebration. It is a big celebration that takes place in Manhattan, KS. It is quite the event to attend. Basically they shut down Aggieville (which is the bar area) to cross traffic and everybody strolls from bar to bar. The bars open up early too, if I am remembering correctly it is around 9 am. Ya I know, CRAZY talk. I'm not quite sure I would be able to hang with those crazy college kids if I showed up at 9 am, so I plan on going a little later on.

Tomorrow should be a little bit more laid back. I am going to be attending a baby shower for the brother's girlfriend's sister. Haha I am sure I will be ready for a more relaxed day after the festivities from today close down.

I hope yall's weekends are just a fun and festive!
I know I say this a lot, but I will try to stay in better touch.

Where is your pink ribbon?

Unless you have been living under a rock, you know that October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. There are pink ribbons floating around everywhere and event after event to help raise money. Breast cancer research has taken huge strides in the past few decades and the survival rate has increased as a result. Unfortunately not every story ends with a happy ending.

I came across this article last week and it broke my heart. The lady nailed it in the title, the last three pictures broke me. Take a few minutes to read the article then say a prayer for all those affected by this awful disease and all that have lost loved ones in the battle.

Livin' the Dream One Mile at a Time

Since we last caught up, I have been quite the traveler. As y'all know my mother and I took a 8 day long road trip from Albuquerque, NM to Olympia, WA! It was an absolute blast and I was so thankful to be able to spend that time with her. I am going to try to break up our trip into a couple separate blogs, but here are a few summary collages to catch you up until then.

Albuquerque to Las Vegas

Las Vegas to San Fancisco

San Francisco

Napa Valley

Redwood National Forrest and Coast Line

Seattle's Pike Place Market

Space Needle

Dinner on the Pier

Capilano Suspension Bridge in Vancouver.

Granville Island Public Market in Vancouver as well.

Stay on the lookout for more traveling blogs to come!

Catch Up Time

Alright guys, well I officially stink at bloggin' and Miss Football called me out on it the other day! I completely missed the entire month of July. :( Things have been pretty crazy around here lately. I am currently about to finish up my THIRD rotation for pharmacy school and gosh this summer has just flown by! Since I would be bloggin' for days about everything that has been going on, I figured I will just show a few pictures to catch y'all up on the last month and a half. Buckle up y'all, its going to be long!

Mom's side of the family went camping between Rotation 1 & 2!
It was an absolute blast & I wish we could have spent more than 4 days!
Here is a little description of Brother of Mine & my relationship.
Of course Laker Lover and I had to have a few BB dates
while I was back in ABQ for my 2nd rotation!
One of the easier weekend's I had on Rotation #2,
Laker Lover and I had a movie marathon while I did my nails!
Oh and of course I had to buy my personal car mascot :)
The last full weekend in ABQ, Laker Lover's Dad and Sister came to town.
We started off the weekend with dinner and a movie.
Of course you can't go to a movie without sneaking in some candy.
The next night, Laker Lover, her sister, Fratty Frat, My Little B & I
all went out to the famous DB! We met up with some other friends there
& had an absolute blast! Can't beat country music and two-steppin' cowboys.
I captured this beauty one of my last nights in town!
Man, how great is our GOD!
This little angel turned 6 & 7 months old while I was MIA!
Isn't she just absolutely precious?
P.S. Less than a week until I get to go stay with her :)
One night I got a little excited that we were finally getting
some of God's beautiful rain! Gotta love summertime monsoon season.
Home sweet home for Rotation #3 :)
I mean I guess I can live with driving past this beautiful scenery
twice a day on my way to work. Life is rough, huh?
Spent a little time at the arena watching my cousins rope.
Started this new thing called running. Evidently it is all the fad.
Spent every evening after work with these beauties.
Call me crazy, but not much beats the smell of a cold room.

Well that is just a little recap of all the crazy happenings of my life lately! I hope everything has been going good yall's way. Hopefully next time I won't go a month and a half without checking in. Until next time my loves!
