Resolution or No?

As the new year is quickly approaching, the big question is whether or not you make those new years resolutions or not? I haven't really been a fan of making resolutions because I think if you want to change something, you don't need a new year to do that. With that being said, every year I always try to  pick out a few things to focus on at the beginning of each new year. This past year I wanted to focus on being a better person. As part of that I adopted a soldier, that ended up being several soldier, and it was one of the best things I have done with my time.

So I challenge each of y'all to decide on something to work on the next year. I personally am going to work more on being a better christian, continuing to work towards that fitness goal I have set and getting my life together where ever I end up. If you are still struggling to find ideas, I found this article and thought it was worth the time to read.

I want to wish you guys all a very Happy New Year!

Smile

I love this quote for so many reasons, but seriously one of the best things you can do for a person is turn a bad day into something good. Whether it is a small gesture or long talk with an old friend, make somebody's day better today! We are all fighting our own kind of battle and you never know how once simple smile can be contagious.

Smile on my friends, smile on!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Today I am linking up with Jamie for What I'm Loving Wednesday!

There is no scarcity of opportunity to make a living at what you love; there's only scarcity of resolve to make it happen.
--Wayne Dyer

Spiritual Healing

But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul.
--Deuteronomy 4:29

I started off this year working on becoming a better person and strengthening my relationship with God. In an effort to help with that, I decided to start doing a few new things in my daily routine. The first thing you guys read about was adopting a soldier, I am also writing down one good thing from each day, and reading a couple daily devotionals. I had purchased a great devotional by Joyce Meyer then had my friend Lovely Country Mess, from Take Time to Smell the Cowpies, was sweet enough to send me a copy of her favorite devotional, so I am set. They are going great by the way and I am planning on talking about a few of my favorite days later in the year, so keep on the look out!

It is amazing how much different your day can turn out when you start it off right in worship. So I thought I would share a few of my favorite bible verses with y'all and ask you guys to share a few of your favorites as well.

Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strenghten you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Rejoice always, pray continually,
give thanks in all circumstances;
for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for,
the evidence of things not seen.

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.

Philippians 4:6-7
Do not be anxious about anything,
but in every situation, by prayer and petition,
with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding,
will guard your heart and your minds in Christ Jesus.

What are a few of yall's favorite bible verses?

Now Go Be Awesome

Last night I had the privilege of listening to who I believe to be one of the most entertaining, best motivational speakers of our time, Paul Moya. Who is Paul Moya you might ask?!? Well let me tell you!

As described from his website,
"Paul is  a former National President of an organization with over 500,000 people, has been educated at one of the most prestigious business schools in the nation, and has received rave reviews while delivering speeches all over the world."
To sum it all up...he is awesome! I have had the lucky privilege to have known Paul for several years now and he is just as great, if not better, of a person in every day life as he is as a speaker.

During his presentation, Paul had his audience interacting the entire time laughing, joking and even crying at parts. Now I don't want to ruin the surprise for you if you ever get the chance to hear Paul speak (DO IT) but I will say his take home message is Now Go Be Awesome!

Lets think about that for a bit... Now Go Be Awesome. That simple phrase can be interpreted so many different ways and applied to virtually anything. Whether you are talking about that job promotion you have been wanting, leadership role in your favorite organization, or even getting up every morning to work out before work. Whatever it is you are doing, wherever you are at, and whoever you are with do NOT let anything hold you back! You are the sole person responsible for your happiness and success.... NOW GO BE AWESOME!

Paul does a terrific job inspiring anybody to do their best! I have only have the chance to hear him speak once, but I am sure he would do a great job with any age group talking on any subject! So if you haven't heard about Paul look him up! As I mentioned above you can contact him several ways:
